| Calculation Notes For each age group, take the total number of DUI arrests for that age group and divide by the age groupﾒs population. Multiply by 10,000 for the rate of arrests per 10,000. |
| Collection Method Each state agency has a slightly different alpha listing of towns. Most differences occur in the towns whose names involve East, West or South. Be sure the town numbers you are using match the agencyﾒs numbering system. Some re-ordering may be required. |
| Importance DUI arrests are a direct consequence of alcohol misuse. |
| Strengths The indicator addresses the degree to which the population age 18 and older received substance abuse treatment services. |
| Limitations Because a person arrested in one town may live in another, this indicator may not reflect actual DUI arrests for the residents of a given town. Arrest data from Connecticut colleges and universities, casinos, and other municipal and state law enforcement |
