Social State of Connecticut (2005)

The Social State of Connecticut is an annual report developed by the Institute which monitors the social health of Connecticut. The 2005 report was the twelfth in the series. The centerpiece of each year’s report is the Institute's Connecticut Index of Social Health. The Connecticut Index combines eleven social indicators into a single number that summarizes the state’s social performance for each year since 1970. Each indicator of the Index represents an important area of social health, such as education, security, health, employment, income, and psychological well-being. The 2005 report includes a special section on young people and the law in Connecticut. The report was supported by the Connecticut State Legislature, the William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund, and the Tow Foundation.
