The Connecticut Department of Housing, together with Regional Plan Association and partners across the state, have worked together to create this guidebook to help municipalities develop their local affordable housing plans, as required by state statute § 8-30j.
While § 8-30j requires all towns to create an affordable housing plan by spring 2022, it doesn’t specify what should be included, leaving many local communities with questions, like:
Towards Health Equity in Connecticut: The Role of Social Inequality and the Impact of COVID-19, is a comprehensive new report that summarizes five broad social determinants of health and discusses how various groups of people are affected by their opportunities in each category. Each section begins with general comparisons of many groups across several indicators, and ends with an example of how those social circumstances relate to a specific health outcome.

In 2018 and 2019, the Greater Waterbury Health Partnership (GWHP) assessment examined indicators related to health behaviors, chronic health conditions, and social factors. This 2020 report is an executive summary of the full assessment, which makes extensive use of many data resources from DataHaven and other sources, including the DataHaven Community Wellbeing Survey and CDC 500 Cities program.

This is a CSV (raw data) file with the state, county, and town-level data used in our community profile pages, updated with 2018 5-year ACS data (released by Census Bureau in December 2019). For Connecticut counties and select Connecticut towns, the dataset also contains a small number of estimates from the 2018 DataHaven Community Wellbeing Survey. Please refer to the survey page for full crosstabs and results.
