DataHaven
DataHaven is a nonprofit organization that serves as a community indicators information hub for the Greater New Haven Region.

Goals
DataHaven's Goals include:
- To engage the general public as well as civic and community-based institutions, the media, business and government in better understanding the region's key challenges and opportunities through shared access to high quality, objective data.
- To facilitate measuring progress toward the community's goals over time.
- To compile high-quality information and make DataHaven resources accessible to all levels of neighborhood, community, civic and regional groups through effective outreach about the use of data to improve policy and affect positive social change.
Outcome Measures of DataHaven
Intermediate Outcome Measures
1. # of "issue topics" added to Knowledge Center, and # backed up by published reports, asset mapping and indicator data. An early draft example of an issue topic is Transportation and Health.
2. % increase in website users
3. % increase in the number of people trained (on the use of indicator systems, websites and data use generally speaking, including our own website)
4. # of media impressions / distributions of electronic State of the Region Report
5. # media impressions / distributions of results from Regional Survey
6. Open Indicators software, visualizing at least 1,000 indicators about the New Haven Region, implemented w/in DataHaven and on at least 5 other community sites
Longer Term Community-Wide Outcomes
1. Community-wide increase in understanding of regional assets and challenges facing the region
2. Increased focus on regional equity, as evidenced by policy discussions and increase in media coverage of key equity issues such as income, education, health, public safety and transportation
3. Grantseekers find accessibility to key data and data interpretation, for use in writing effective grant proposals
4. Citizens find it easier to access to assets (organizations, data, individuals) within their hyperlocal neighborhoods and regions
