The Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness put together this report on the current state of homelessness in Connecticut in 2010. It includes the demographics of the homeless, the resources available to them, and the ways in which efforts to help could be improved. One signficiant result from this year's survey was that there was an unprecedented number of homeless individuals that were experiencing homelessness for the first time.
Mayor of New Haven John Destefano, Jr. delivered the State of the City address on February 7, 2011. He addressed city issues, including public schools, crime, jobs, and the budget.

Executive Summary: Recent reports released over the past few months focus on the educational system in Connecticut, highlighting challenges facing the state with the largest achievement gap in the nation between low-income students and the rest of their peers. In this report, we detail income disparities and poverty concentrations, which disproportionately impact minority students, within the Connecticut region. The reports shed light on the current situation and offer concrete suggestions to close the achievement gap, such as a renewed focus on regional equity.
